da bwin: After months of speculation around his future, it was confirmed that Brazilian midfielder Casemiro would depart Manchester United at the end of his current contract.
da blaze casino: The 33-year-old has enjoyed a revival at Old Trafford over recent months, but it’s evidently not enough to secure him a new contract with the Red Devils.
He’s racked up 20 appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign, even scoring on four occasions – currently sitting as the club’s third top scorer at present.
However, his £350k-per-week wages – the highest at the club – has no doubt played a significant role in the hierarchy’s decision to part ways with the experienced star.
As a result, the board will no doubt have to start drawing up potential alternatives, with various options already appearing on their radar during the ongoing window.
Former PL star now wants to join Man Utd this month
In an attempt to replace the outgoing Casemiro, United have stumbled across various potential additions, with Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha just one currently in their sights.
It’s been reported that the German star is admired by staff behind the scenes at Old Trafford, but any deal could cost as much as £52m should they land him this winter.
However, they aren’t alone in the pursuit of the 25-year-old, with fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur also firmly in the race to land his signature this month.
Nmecha isn’t the only option currently in the Red Devils’ sights, with Besiktas star Wilfred Ndidi also being considered over a possible switch to join Michael Carrick’s side.
According to one Spanish outlet, the Nigerian international wants a return to the Premier League, after leaving Leicester City to join the Turkish outfit just last summer.
The report also states that no offer has yet been made for the 29-year-old’s signature, but his name has constantly been mentioned behind the scenes at the Theatre of Dreams.
The article also goes on to confirm that staff behind the scenes see the player as the perfect Premier League-proven option to improve the midfield department, with Ndidi, meanwhile, said to have offered himself to the club.
Why Ndidi would be perfect for Mainoo at Man Utd
Ruben Amorim’s tenure in charge of United was certainly one to forget for the fans, but also the players, with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo finding opportunities extremely hard to come by.
The season before the manager’s arrival saw the Englishman scoring winning goals against Wolves and even netting in the FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City.
However, the 20-year-old failed to start a single league game up until his dismissal at the start of January, but he’s already seen a revival after Carrick’s temporary appointment.
Mainoo started the clash against Pep Guardiola’s men last weekend, subsequently completing 91% of the passes he attempted, whilst finding a teammate with 100% of his long balls.
Such numbers showcase the youngster’s talents with the ball at his feet, something which he has gained a reputation for at Old Trafford over the last few years.
However, a move for Ndidi could be perfect for the youngster for the years ahead, with the Nigerian able to act as the deep-lying anchor to break up the play before feeding Mainoo.
His stats from the 2025/26 campaign in Turkey showcase his talents out of possession, which could allow for a perfect partnership at the heart of the Red Devils’ side.
Ndidi, who’s been dubbed “outstanding” by Statman Dave, has made 2.9 tackles and won 5.9 of the duels he’s entered per 90 during the ongoing season.

Such numbers highlight his remarkable ability to win the ball back for his side, something which Casemiro has done so effortlessly for the first-team in recent times.

As for the Nigerian, he’s also made 5.4 ball recoveries per 90 this season to date, whilst also making 1.5 interceptions per 90, further highlighting his ability to break up the play in his deep-lying role.
However, with the ball at his feet, he’s been just as impressive, subsequently completing 84% of the passes he’s attempted whilst registering a 67% dribble completion rate.
From all the aforementioned stats, it’s clear that the former Leicester star is a player who can dominate at both ends of the pitch – certainly backing up Statman Dave’s comments about him.
With Casemiro’s pending departure, the club need another experienced ball-winning option in the midfield department, with Ndidi able to provide just that for Carrick.
Whilst it’s unclear how much a deal would cost this winter, it’s one that should be pursued, with Mainoo also able to benefit from any transfer in the months ahead.
